The Role of Humans in the Era of Artificial Intelligence

Introduction

Many believe that using artificial intelligence means that AI does all the work, while the reality is quite different.

The Human Value

In programming, design, engineering, content creation, and other disciplines, the value of humans lies in their understanding of the problem, their ability to make decisions, and their skill in directing tools effectively.

Artificial intelligence does not possess vision, experience, or responsibility; it merely executes what is asked of it based on the directives it receives.

The Fundamental Question

Therefore, the question is not: “Have you used artificial intelligence?” but rather: “What is the mark you have added?”

The Importance of Human Guidance

In recent times, we have witnessed real incidents where AI programming tools deleted databases and entire production systems due to incorrect decisions or insufficient guidance, resulting in significant operational losses.

The issue was not the existence of the AI itself, but rather the lack of appropriate human guidance, governance, and oversight.

AI as a Tool

Artificial intelligence is like a modern car; it may be powerful, fast, and loaded with technologies, but it does not determine its destination on its own. The driver is the one who directs it and bears the responsibility for reaching safely.

The Future of Professions

For this reason, I believe that the future of professions will not belong solely to artificial intelligence or solely to humans, but to those humans who can consciously and expertly harness AI, leaving their true mark on what they create.
